Our History
Prayer Transformation Ministries (PTM) is a prayer ministry
located in Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN. Formed in 1993 (under the name Midwest Concerts of
Prayer), PTM has worked with the prayer movement in the Twin Cities, the state of
Minnesota, and on a national level.
1987:
Area leaders organize first citywide Concert of Prayer at the Minneapolis Auditorium.
The local committee continues meeting and forms Midwest Concerts of Prayer. Citywide
Concerts of Prayer are held annually.
1993:
Board of Directors for Midwest Concerts of Prayer is formed. John Quam is first
Chairman. Remco Brommet is called as first Executive Director.
1998:
Remco Brommet takes a new ministry position in California. Steve Loopstra
becomes new Executive Director
2000:
John Quam joins staff as Chairman and CEO. Carol Madison is added as Communications
Director. The name of the organization is changed to Prayer Transformation Ministries to
better reflect a broader ministry of training and equipping churches and intercessors, as
well as casting a vision for revival and transformation.
Prayer Transformation Ministries joins
the Nehemiah Center in First Covenant Church, with a vision of partnering with other
prayer and evangelism ministries for a common city- reaching purpose. PTM facilitates the
building of offices and networking of ministries.
2003:
John Quam transitions to Mission America as Global Missions Facilitator. Steve
Loopstra (Executive Director) and Carol Madison (now Associate Director) begin realignment
of staff and ministry priorities to reflect changes in focus and finances.
2004:
PTM downscales office space in Nehemiah Center and turns management of Center over the
First Covenant Church. This frees PTM to focus its ministry on the vision of prayer for
transformation.
2006:
PTM is invited to share office space with another local ministry, Kingdom Oil, in the
suite space of Dunkley and Bennett in the 701 Building in downtown Minneapolis. This new
alignment allowed for greater cooperation with the citywide vision of Kingdom Oil,
partnered with the vision for prayer for transformation.
2008:
Staff transitions cause PTM to scale back and temporarily move offices to Steve Loopstra's
home.
2009:
Steve Loopstra accepts position with the Sentinel Group in Seattle, WA.
Mark Peterson
assumes leadership of Prayer Transformation Ministries in July and moves PTM offices to
Edina.
