Republican National Convention Prayer Alerts      updated September 2, 2008

The purpose of this page is to provide prayer alerts and information regarding the Republican National Convention being held in St. Paul, Minnesota, September 1-4.

This is a non-partisan, non-political opportunity for the people of God to pray for His hand upon all the activities in and around the RNC Convention.

Latest Prayer Requests:

1. Continue to pray against the spirit of rebellion and anarchy in the streets of St. Paul.

2. Pray for the peace officers that are putting in long hours.

3. Pray that the ministry of "Living Water" would continue to have favor with the demonstrators, and law enforcement.

4. Pray the many chaplains who are ministering to the law enforcement officials.

5. Pray for many to find faith in Christ during these days..

6. Pray for protection from those who would plot evil. .

7. Pray for safety as the delegates, media and others travel back to their homes.

8. Pray as the Lord Jesus taught us, "Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven."

 

"Living Water" Outreach testimony

As afternoon headed into evening the police cleared off the capital green and we sensed God leading us to move into downtown St. Paul. After a few blocks across the bridges from the capital area to downtown we started seeing demonstrators moving back towards the capital. We handed out water and made eye contact with each of them to tell them, "God loves you." We came to an intersection and all of the sudden we heard riot gas canisters popping and many demonstrators running into the intersection weeping because of the gas. In the middle of complete chaos on the street God had us exactly where we were supposed to be. We were able to hand out water and tell them that "Jesus loved them." They couldn't believe we were out in the middle of a street war giving out water and bringing a message of love.

Additional Prayer Initiatives - How you can be involved

State-Wide 24/7 Prayer Covering - This is an opportunity for churches and prayer groups from across the state of Minnesota to be involved in praying during the convention on a 24/7 basis. This will begin on August 30 at 6:00pm and end on September 5 at 6:00pm.  If you or your group would like to be involved you may contact Karen Krueger at karenk@calltothewall.org or call 763-689-4107. 24/7 "Prayer Furnace" during the Convention - This is an opportunity for anyone to come and be involved in this 24/7 prayer room that will be functioning during the Convention - Monday, September 1 at 12:00am to Thursday, September 4 at 11:59am. To sign up for a time during those four days, please email ana@businessblessings.org or call 816-786-6703.. The prayer room will be located at Berean COGIC, 441 Rice Street, St. Paul, MN.

Daily Prayer Focus - If you are praying in three hour shifts in your church, at the "Prayer Furnace," or by yourself, you can use this Prayer Focus that will take you through Psalm 46 with a prayer focus for each three hour shift. For a PDF file  Click Here. For a Word format Click Here.

Outreach/Prayer Opportunities - Outreach/prayer teams will have opportunities to pray for and share with many in our cities the love of Jesus Christ. If you are interested, contact Luke Klevgaard at luke@trinityworks.org or call 651-353-9055.

We want to invite you and/or your teams to continue to hear from the Lord as to how and where to pray.
While there is still opportunity, we could suggest:

• Going to the Xcel Center and prayer walking around the building
• Going to the airport and prayer walking the airport
• Prayer walking the streets surrounding the Xcel Center
• For those who are so gifted, praying in and around the bars in the area
• Pray at the river and at Harriet Island

Special Prayer Opportunity from intercessors in Chadashchay - Prior to the RNC, beginning on August 14, there will be an opportunity to participate in a 24/7 prayer furnace that is going to burn for 21 days, from Thursday, August 14th until Thursday, September 4th.
